We believe in creating a working relationship with your dog, not dominating him into submission.

Before training is started, time is spent with the owner and the dog(s), learning how the family works.

By listening to the owner’s needs and the current issues, we are able to develop the most efficient and realistic way to work together.

Are you in any of these situations?

Our Philosopy

Not all dogs are the same and neither are their owners.

  • We evaluate the whole situation first to assure the use of the most effective methods.
  • We train owners alongside their dog.
  • We train using Positive Reinforcement methods.
  • Methods include using treats, toys, gentle leaders, and front clip harnesses
  • We believe in having a healthy partnership with your dog: here you lead and they follow happily.
  • As a CCPDT-certified trainer, we adhere to the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) philosophy

We coach and support clients in the way they learn best, adapting our teaching style to help them become someone their dog trusts and understands.

CCPDT Certified Dog Trainer, Behavior Consultant

Meet Owner Cheryl Tuttle

As a CCPDT-KA Certified Dog Trainer specializing in Behavior Consulting, and as the Owner of Last Paw LLC, I’ve been passionately involved in the world of professional dog training since 2006.

My journey began at the Manatee County Humane Society, where I worked from 2006 to 2008, creating enrichment programs, organizing play groups, and developing a volunteer dog walking program.

My love for dogs goes beyond my professional work—I have a personal passion for agility, obedience, and rally, which I enjoy as a hobby.

I enjoy tackling complex cases that involve creative problem-solving, collaboration, and working closely with owners toward a shared goal.

I believe in a straightforward yet empathetic approach to quickly uncover the root of the issue, using positive reinforcement methods to correct and guide behavior. The dog’s mental and emotional well-being is our top priority throughout the training process.

With a deep understanding of canine behavior and training, I bring a well-rounded perspective to my consulting practice.

At Last Paw LLC, my mission is to enhance the lives of dogs and their owners by clearing up miscommunication between humans and their dogs.

Focusing on behavior history, owners’ reporting, and live feedback, I work to share my passion, perspective, and respect for the animal.

I am not interested in “breaking a dog.” While obedience is extremely important, I like to think of it as teaching manners instead of making the dog obey and comply with my will.
